Brown is Northwest Super Shoe; Hein Crushes Record



POST FALLS, IDAHO – August 24, 2008 – The ASA NSRA Northwest Sprint Car Series returned to Stateline Speedway after a 20-year absence with stunning results. Matt Hein set a new overall track record and Oregon’s Rick Brown claimed the title in the Northwest Super Shoe Show.
            Hein was one of twelve drivers to break the record with a crushing time of 11.436 seconds. The time was four tenths quicker than the previous record held by Rick Brown at 11.893.

In the main event Brown, winner of a heat race, took the lead early and held off a hard charging Sierra Jackson in the 40-lap main event for the win. Nampa, Idaho’s Cory Lockwood took third winning the B heat. Only two cautions for spins slowed the fast paced event. Andy Alberding and Hein rounded out the top five. Jake Mann won the fast dash along with Spokane’s Justin Popple. Wes Helgeson took the C heat.
