POST FALLS, IDAHO – August 24, 2008 – The ASA NSRA Northwest
Sprint Car Series returned to Stateline Speedway after a 20-year
absence with stunning results. Matt Hein set a new overall track
record and Oregon’s Rick Brown claimed the title in the
Northwest Super Shoe Show.
Hein was one of twelve drivers to break the record with a crushing
time of 11.436 seconds. The time was four tenths quicker than the
previous record held by Rick Brown at 11.893.
In the main event Brown, winner of a heat race, took the lead
early and held off a hard charging Sierra Jackson in the 40-lap
main event for the win. Nampa, Idaho’s Cory Lockwood took third
winning the B heat. Only two cautions for spins slowed the fast
paced event.
Andy Alberding and Hein rounded out the top five. Jake Mann won
the fast dash along with Spokane’s Justin Popple. Wes Helgeson
took the C heat.
